Postpartum hair loss is a thing!
First things first. Postpartum hair loss is a thing! Experts say it. I have experienced it. I actually experienced hair loss after pregnancy with each of my four pregnancies, the last was the worst. Before I found a remedy that works for me, i.e this growth oil and hair growth vitamins, I was convinced I was powerless when it came to hair loss after delivery, this is partly because the products I turned to didn’t help any. And boy did those postpartum hormones wreck havoc on my mane.
There is no doubt hair plays a big role in beauty, fashion and general lifestyle. Thus making hair loss, whether it be postpartum hair loss, damaged hair from use and overuse of chemicals or just due hormonal changes a big topic too.
After my fourth child my hair went from great to depressing. If my hair was a credit score I’d say it went from an 800 to a 300. Postpartum hair loss is a thing guys! I lost so much hair, I didn’t even have to do the big chop, my hair chopped itself. And then I made the mistake of letting my husband shave off the rest, Oh My Goodness, I’ll chalk that bad decision to postpartum hormones!
How Long Does Postpartum Hair Loss Last?
From my experience, I will say postpartum hair loss lasts as long as the after-birth hormones are raging and as long as you leave it unchecked! About three to twelve weeks after birth, the hormones generally tone down, but if you don’t take extra care to moisturize and restore your hair, the after effects will be long and damaging!
In my effort to grow back my hair, I required something effective and safe. Something I could trust, that was organic and free of harmful chemicals. That’s when a good friend introduced me to a Hair Oil and Butter and I haven’t looked back!
My friend is the kind of person whose word you can take to the bank! But she did encourage me to do my research too. I did do my research, checked and rechecked reviews. I followed the small black-owned business online, learned their story, mode of production, ingredients and so on. I know that seems a lot for buying hair products but, I was going to use it for my little girls’ too so i had to be sure. In the process I realized these amazing hair products came to be because the owner was in the same predicament as me; postpartum hair loss. So she cooked her own home-made hair growth and strengthening oils, and the success of it spurred her to turn it into a business. You can check out her story here.
To say I’m extremely satisfied with the oils, hair butters and vitamins is an understatement. They have a customer in me for life! My hair and that of my kids have bounced to health. I even found a beard oil for my husband that he loves.
Give Your Hair Some Love And Time
So here is the routine I used to grow my hair back to health postpartum:
- I wash my hair weekly or fortnightly, depending on what protective style I have on with their premium biotin shampoo. The shampoo itself is very moisturizing and helps detangle hair.
- I condition with their premium biotin conditioner, leave it in for about ten minutes and then rinse off.
- They don’t have a leave in conditioner as yet so I use this leave in conditioner.
- And before I braid, twist or tie a bun, I use a generous amount of hair butter and oil.
- The a final important step is I make sure whatever protective style I have on, I apply the hair oil daily to ensure moisture and prevent breakage.

I suffered from PP hair loss as well. Thanks for information on what works!
I had no idea this was a thing since my hair accelerated in growth while I was pregnant. However, for those that lost their hair, this will certainly get them back on track. Thanks for sharing.
I totally want to help my hair thicken up! You look great and looks like you really improved that “credit score” after your baby! š
Giving birth can affect so many things! I had no idea!!
It is amazing what our bodies can come back from with a little bit of love a patience. You are such a beauty!
I love seeing how beautiful your hair is! I am still losing a lot of hair, and I’m over 18 months PP.
I never had any post-partum hair loss, but my waves disappeared after the first baby.
My hairdresser suggested I take a biotin supplement for my thinning hair.
My wife went through a similar situation after the birth of our twins.
I had some postpartum hair loss. My hair was very thick to begin with, so I wasn’t too worried. I hated that my hair went from having beautiful ringlet curls, to being straight as a pin for years after my last was born (he stole my curls!). Now, 11 years later, my hair still isn’t the same… Good thing my last kid is cute LOL
Oooooo I love it! I have to check them out! Love the growth! Thank you for sharing love!
I didn’t realize this happens. Your hair is beautiful!
You look amazing! I use progesterone oil and iodine and it slowed my hair loss way down! It is scary!

Good to know about these products! I never had a problem with hair loss after pregnancy but I know people who are experiencing it now.
Your article is excellent – I had no idea there was such a problem.
